What Will It Take?

The biased slant of the corporate media neglects to answer the real questions on everyone's mind concerning war with Iraq .Instead they create the illusion of cooperation and support for a senseless war. Developing an accessible dialogue with the viewing public is necessary to keep the lines of communication open and honest. In this art piece, we wanted to address a question that had been on our minds from the start: "At what cost will it take to win this war?" No one really knows the answer to this question. However, we do know that it is going to cost billions and billions of our hard earned money and also thousands of innocent lives throughout our world community.
The costs of being a superpower and waging wars are extremely high. Last year alone, we spent $350 billion dollars on weapons spending. Where does this money come from to support these imperialistic forces? As billions of dollars are directed towards the ever increasing war effort, the government cuts funding for our public basic needs of survival, such as schools, hospitals, housing, roads, shelters, and environmental protection. While the infrastructure of our nation crumbles before his feet, the President and other corporate leaders trudge over bodies in their quest for power, control, and oil. Now President Bush is asking for an additional $90 billion dollars to go towards ending "terrorism" throughout in the Middle East. The neglect of our needed social programs will eventually lead to far more devastation in our nation than any terrorist ever could!!     At what cost will it take to win this war, President Bush?
