Osama bin Laden stated that the attacks on September 11th were a direct result of United States foreign policy: unconditional support of Israel,
American soldiers stationed in the holy land, and deadly sanctions against the Iraqi people. Bush claimed that the war in Afghanistan was in
retaliation for 9-11. The Bush administration then tried to manipulate feelings of vengeance in order to build support for their war against Iraq even though Iraq was in no way connected to or responsible for 9-11. The root causes of September 11th have never been addressed. Rather, the Bush administration is replicating the very conditions which allowed for the creation of Osama bin Laden.
